Day 1 of the Chatbot Challenge - Progress and Planning

The first day of the chatbot development challenge went well, and I felt disciplined and productive. While the work isn’t complete (and in reality, it’s never truly “finished”), I managed to make significant progress. I worked through a large page of notes and completed almost two days’ worth of tasks from the checklist suggested by Claude. It feels like I’m on track.
From the initial exercises and wireframe sketches I did, I realized that the most challenging aspect will be building the knowledge base. This knowledge base is essential because the chatbot needs to have detailed information about each specific property. The tricky part is making this process simple and user-friendly, especially if I decide to allow property managers to do it themselves. If this part is done poorly, it could compromise the whole chatbot experience. Therefore, it needs to be structured clearly, possibly with a guided setup or even an option for users to upload documents that the system can use to build the knowledge base automatically.
The next step will be tackling this complex aspect after laying down the basic architecture and repository. Tomorrow, I plan to finalize the skeleton code and set up unit tests for the functionality. Additionally, I’ll start drafting user stories, focusing on scenarios like “As a property manager, I want to train my chatbot agents as efficiently and accurately as possible.” This will help in structuring the core features moving forward.
